Overview

This is a 22-day climbing expedition without high altitude porters to conquer the majestic Sangemarmar Sar peak. Starting from Islamabad, your adventure takes you through the picturesque landscapes of Pakistan Karakoram Range. Explore the town of Aliabad Hunza before beginning your trek towards Thochi, the first stage of your ascent. Spend days acclimatizing amidst stunning vistas before reaching the base camp of Sangemarmar Sar. Here you wll immerse yourself in the challenge of the climb, supported by your team and the breathtaking beauty of the surroundings. After summiting, return to Aliabad for a well-deserved rest before heading back to Islamabad. Take in the sights and sounds of the capital city, reflecting on the incredible journey you have just completed. Transfer to the airport on the final day, carrying with your memories of a lifetime from this unforgettable expedition.

Itinerary At Glance

  • Day 1: Arrival at Islamabad airport

  • Day 1: fly/drive to Gilgit

  • Day 2: free day in Aliabad/Karimabad

  • Day 3-5 : Aliabad- Thochi (first acclimatization phase)

  • Day 6: Thochi to BC Sangemar mar Sar

  • Day 6-1 6: BC Sangemarmar sar (acclimatization + climb)

  • Day 17- 18: BC to Aliabad/Karimabad

  • Day 19: Rest Day

  • Day 20: fly/drive to Islamabad

  • Day 21: Rest Day Islamabad

  • Day 22: transfer Islamabad airport and fly home

    Notes For the Trip

    Road conditions vary in this part of the mountains. This may result in longer travel times. In case of unavoidable road blockage that prevents travel, we will be responsible for managing your lodging and food during this extra time. However, you will need to cover the expenses for the extra days.

    It should be noted that climbing permits are not guaranteed for individuals who have previously violated mountaineering rules in Pakistan, as they may be rejected due to past misconduct or violations.

    Any additional services beyond the itinerary or possible changes during the tour will incur extra charges, and these changes should be discussed with the guide beforehand.

    Active satellite phones/GPS tracker, one satellite phone to be kept with the base camp staff

    Money paid in advance for permits is completely nonrefundable in case of any individuals or expedition cancellation.

    Magpie tours shall stay bound to contract signed with group leader only for any additional change in the service or itinerary of the participants
