Spantik Peak, standing at over 7,000 meters, is a popular choice among mountaineers for its relatively smooth ascent, requiring less technical skill compared to other towering giants in the Karakoram range.

Often considered an ideal “starter peak” in this region, it provides a less challenging yet thrilling high-altitude experience, making it perfect for climbers looking to build confidence and acclimatize before attempting more demanding climbs in the Karakoram. The journey begins with a day’s drive to Arandu Village, the trailhead, followed by a three-day trek to base camp.
The climbing period itself is adaptable, ranging from one week to up to two or three weeks, allowing flexibility to adjust for weather and acclimatization. Spantik provides a perfect blend of adventure and preparation for those aiming to conquer the higher peaks of the Karakoram.
